Leatherise didn’t start in a boardroom it started in a moment.
Early in 2024, while sorting through an old cedar chest, I found my childhood teddy bear. The stitches had loosened, one button eye was missing, and the fur was worn down to the threads. But the second I picked it up, I felt that old, quiet comfort the kind that modern life rarely leaves room for anymore.
That feeling wouldn’t let me go. So I reached out to one of the most respected teddy bear makers in the U.S., a family-run workshop known for decades of impeccable craftsmanship. We didn’t just shake hands on a deal—we sat together for hours, swapping sketches, testing fabrics, and imagining the kind of bears we wished still existed.
That’s how Leatherise was born not as a brand, but as a collaboration between vision and skill.
We don’t chase perfect symmetry or glossy perfection. Our bears have bent ears, fur that invites a touch, and stitching you can actually feel under your fingers. They’re made with deliberate slowness, so each one carries its own quirks little signs that a real person, not a machine, brought it to life.
